About.

SERVING THOSE
WHO SERVED FIRST.

Join us in our mission to ensure that no Veteran is left behind.

At UVOC, our mission is to provide wraparound supportive services to Veterans in Central Louisiana. Through our TIP (a GPD Transition In Place) program, we offer transitional housing and a range of supportive services that are tailored to each Veteran’s needs. Our mission is to provide homeless Veterans and their families with a supportive transitional housing environment that offers a range of wraparound services to meet their unique needs. Our goal is to empower Veterans to achieve stability and self-sufficiency, by providing a safe and supportive environment that offers the resources and support they need to successfully transition from homelessness to permanent housing. Our commitment to our Veterans is reflected in our dedication to providing compassionate care and tailored services that honor their sacrifices and service to our country. Join us in our mission to ensure that no Veteran is left behind.

Who qualifies for assistance?
Transition in Place / TIP

Transition in Place / TIP is for Veterans who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. Transition in Place (TIP) offers short-term housing, case management and supportive services for 6-12 months, after which the Veteran may choose to assume their lease or relocate to other permanent housing. Services include Short-term housing, furniture, transit card, emergency food, case management, financial literacy/savings, life skills and advocacy.

Veteran participant eligibility

For the purpose of GPD eligibility, “Veteran” is defined as “a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service, regardless of length of service, and who was discharged or released therefrom.

VA GPD Case Management

In partnership with the Alexandria, La. VA medical Center, VA Case Management provides services to improve the retention of housing for Veterans who were previously homeless and are transitioning to permanent housing.

Testimonials.

STORIES OF HOPE.

At our program, we value the stories and experiences of our veterans. Hearing about their journeys and how our program has positively impacted their lives is what motivates us to keep doing what we’re doing. Their testimonials serve as a reminder of the important work we do, and we are honored to be a part of their journey towards finding a new life.

“They found someone who was hanging on to life by a thread, and not only helped me up, but built a bridge. God bless UVOC…”

LESHAWN AUSTON

“Most of all, I enjoyed the fellowship of my fellow veterans, members of the “Lecompte Mafia”, and all of the other nice people…”
